I can understand to be honest. I guess the issue is starting at 99p is they may actually sell for that amount. As a seller a supose you have to start at an amount that you would be happy to sell it for. If that amount is 10 or 20 quid it can be a be frustrating for some buyers. However if it doesn't sell there is always a chance it will be relisted for less :)

What I have found in my limited and personal opinion regarding selling flyers from £10 or upwards is that as Wigs says its what the seller is happy to sell them for. For example in my own case living through those wonderful days in 1989/early 1990 was part of what made me who I am today. I collected them as part of my identity, at that time we all did. Probably the only thing we competed in in those days were ''how many raves we went to'' and ''how many flyers we had on our bedroom walls''. When I put a flyer up for sale the great thing is, if it does not sell I am delighted to have it back. Its like I can't lose. Of course I want to sell them now and will do if the price is right not just for me but the buyer as well. Just looking through them and reading what is written on them makes my spine actually tingle. They're worth their weight in gold,at least to me and maybe someone else.

I tend to side with Danny here. If a flyer starts at £10 or more then collectors may be reluctant to bid for it as they dont want to get in a bidding war at such a high starting price. If it is 'worth' a decent price it will 9 times out of 10 reach this worth or more with a nice low tempting starting bid.

Of course there is the chance listing it at 99p it will go for 99p. It is a gamble so fair enough if sellers aren't prepared to risk it, as Jamie says some of these flyers mean a lot to people and would be gutting to see a valuable memory go for next to nothing.

As a collector it is a shame that some usual sellers are starting 'rare' flyers at higher prices, almost as a 'buy it now' listing knowing that they'll probably only get one bidder coming in but it will guarantee a price they want. Makes less chance for grabbing a bargain now.
