A Hard Day's night 1990

Post by phatmedia » 08 Mar 2012, 18:22

I picked up 'A Hard Day's night' 1990 - Pez, from ebay a while back along wiht a couple of other 1990 flyers.

On second glance Im not sure about its authenticity. It seems different from the usual paper / card flyers from 1989 / 1990 were printed on.
Its quite thin and almost glossy like a laser jet print. The text on rear is rasied so you can feel it if you run your fingers over it.

Not too bothered if its snide as I got the 3 for 99p and the others are def legit, just wondered if anyone else has this flyer to compare?

Cheers!D

Do you mean this?

This one i have is kind of half way between paper & card - its quite thin & floppy (ooo errr :)) ) but not as thin as "normal" paper. The text on the back is not raised & i cant feel it at all. I remember seeing the auction that you won but cant remember who is the seller?

Yeah that's the one Higguz. It's shiny and slightly thicker than normal paper but not card if that makes sense, with raised print. It doesn't feel right but I could be wrong. Was only 99p so Im not gonna kick up a fuss and the other 2 are legit, I have dealt with the seller before some years back with no probs.

Ive just checked mine and like Higguz the print is not raised at all.

The colours on yours look too bright and vivid whereas the original is much more dull as in Higguz pic,
also the text on the back of yours isnt straight but is on the original flyer.

Cheers Stare.
The colours may have been enhanced a bit when I put it thru Photoshop - levels, but aside from that you are spot on.

I just don't see the point but the seller may not have been aware it was a re-print, Id have to contact them to check but its not like Id want a refund from 99p! lol At least the other 2 were originals altho they are spares for me now.

Whilst i have been going through my old flyers i have noticed a lot are printed on different papers.. 1 example is a Dance Trance Flyer.. Same Flyer but some are Glossy & some are like a Matt finish... :-B I have kept 2 of a lot of old flyers due to the fact some have different paper types... Different colours even.. May just have been a second batch?? :-?
